The Battle
of the Boulevard in 1951 when Other Nationalities won a
glorious 17-14 victory over France in their prime, was described
as a veritable blood bath. Legendary Aussie forward Arthur Clues
knew nothing about it. Marseille policeman Edouard Ponsinet
knocked him out to settle an old score while the ball was still
in the air from the kick-off.

Flagged out: Boulevard action in front of the original Threepenny
Stand
