Title: ... p81 - Kurt Sorensen Memories -days at Widnes - Steve Hammell
|
Watching re-runs of the 85 & 86 Aus v NZ test series Sorensen stands out as
the one man who can hurt the Aussie pack - man handling Pearce, bouncing Folkes,
flattening Simmons and taking Roach and Tunks head-on. Not to mention leaving
Wally face down in the dust twice in Sydney and Brisbane - ha ha.
Watching Widnes, I remember best the 89 Title Decider v Wigan - Kurt
again was the key man, scoring the try that put us in the lead and giving Hanley
some serious stick. Always enjoyed watching him maul the wire forwards of the
day.
And all this crap about Boyd hitting him is garbage that never
happened from the wire. Sorensen eats Boyds for breakfast. For the record, I've
never seen Boyd do any damage whatsoever to any Widnes forward.
