Title: ... p91 - memories and comments on Mick Cronin by Craig Norman, Marrickville NSW

When I was a kid, I had a picture of Mick Cronin stuck to the light in my bedhead, so I would always see it whenever I turned the light on. He was my idol.
Fast forward to my mid thirties, I get married in Kiama and the day afterwards, half of the wedding party went to the Crow's pub in Gerringong. He was working behind the bar.
I figured he's probably had enough idiots chew his ear off about footy so didn't do that. I couldn't help noticing there wasn't a single footy memento anywhere in the place, and mentioned it to my wife. She went to the bar later, got into a chat with Mick, and when she asked about the lack of memorabilia he said he'd basically given it all away - local fundraisers, friends etc.

Aside from being such a great player, he always came across as the most decent bloke.
