Can't account for the last 50 years, but in the
20 years I've been a Saints supporter Lance Thompson would get my vote - the guy bleeds Red & White.

Billy Smith., 14 years, 234 games
Finished his career captaining the thirds to a
Premiership. And teaching the Babes how to play
footy before Harry Bath got them.
So loyal to captain that when the scum tore up
Sticks coaching contract, Billy went too.

Another club packed with copius numbers of great
club men. But what about the Legend Frank Facer.
Of course there is Smithy, Sticks Provan, Changa,
Gasnier, Ian Walsh, Ken Kearney. Poppa Clay and Chook Raper both signed from Newtown.
If you know of anymore and know that there is, can
you let me know..

A Clubman must be someone you think of and
automatically think St.George and who you think
lives and breaths the
club. So , From my time, ie the 70's onwards I think
the following players.
Craig Young, great player , great
Captain, got booted as coach yet came
back to help Nathan Brown. Brad
Mackay (where is he now ? )Nathan
Brown
, Lance Thompson (the club should
hold their heads in shame over his
treatment)after all he did take a pay cut so other
players could stay
with the club. Nathan Blacklock wouldn't play for any other team.

CLUBMAN Without doubt Fearless Frank Facer. The
administration has been a joke since he passed away.AS
for the players you couldn't go past Billy
Smith with club record of games.Special
mention for Mark Shulman not many
players would play second fiddle for as long as
he did at the one club..
