And you wonder why I hate the modern politically correct game .

Justin Hodges of the Brisbane Donkeys cops two weeks for making gestures to the whistle blower (5/8/08).... How many weeks do you reckon blokes like Dallas would of got if he had to front every time he sneezed in the wrong direction..

Era of the Biff

This website is dedicated to a great part of the history of the game of Rugby League. Some call it the tough times, the violent times, the era of biff. I for one enjoyed watching the 'battles' as they unfolded on the field, and absolutely drooled about rematches.

I encourage all to share their memories with others by contributing to this website. Have a look around the site, drop us a line. Be a part of the run on team.

"At one point the railway ran alongside the road. That was when we realized that something big was on. There were coaches nose-to-tail all the way up to the top and down the other side with no movement at all." - Prof John Shepherd
St Augustine, Trinidad, who in 1954 was one of 103,000 plus spectators who attended the 1954 Cup Replay, played at Odsal, Warrington v Halifax

"Rugby League is a simple game played by simple people. Rugby union is a complex game played by w@nkers" - Laurie Daley.

Once a baby faced Mal Reilly told Rocky Turner he had just played a great game, Rocky said, "you don't even look like a forward" and punched him in the nose. "Now you look like a league forward" said Rocky.

This website was created and designed by jeff Quigley, also known as quigs, of studioquigs fame..Quigs also included in the favorite moments the Ahern family Reunion which was held in the Park in September 1989. The highlight of the event was the Ahern family challenge rugby league match which include 23 sons of the brothers Gordon, Bill, Fred, Ron Clarry, and John Ahern. The sons are from Bloomsbury, sarina, Rockhampton, Tambo and Dysart. The game featured referee Barry Grasshopper Gomersall assisted by David Hill and Peter Connell. The scorers were Jan Slotosch, simon guest, kirk doak, shawn doak, kent svendsen, gavin tydd. It ranks with the best State of Origin Clashes at the SCG or Lang Park. Also of Don Graham, Noel Kelly, Bill Keato, and Ron Watson, at the Pratten Park reunion 2003. Team era received a great story from Paul Schmalz of waterloo sydney, about legendary wests toughman Peter Diamond. Read some stories on the Memories of Dennis Donoghue, Old Souths toughman. The Era of the Biff has nothing to do with Channel Nine Footy Show or the Reg reagan Character. received from the latest issue of Harry Edgar Rugby League Journal, the one and only Vince Karalius reflects on how he got his hardman reputation that led to the Wild Bull of the Pampas nickname.
