| The
Great Britain touring side of 1962 were set to play
against the might of the St George Powerhouse at
the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The Saints where well on their way with their run
of 11 straight premierships. They had won every
season since 1956 and in 62 is seemed like a formality
that they were going to win yet again.
This game was played midweek and four days after
Australia's dramatic 18-17 win in the third test.
Both teams fielded the strongest possible playing
strength.
Saints
had Graham, Lumsden, Brown, Gasnier, King, Clay,
O'Bryan, Raper, Provan(c), Ryan,Porter, Walsh, Wilson,
(res) Riley and Armstrong.
