Sonny Nickle played for GB, St Helens, Sheffield Eagles and Bradford. He was well known for seeing red and laying out opponents. The chant "Sonny's gonna get ya" would ring around Knowsley Road (Saints' ground) is an opponent hit a Saints player - and Sonny would not let us down.

Martin Offiah can probably vouch for the fact that Sonny didn't always follow the rules.
