Growing up I have been told by all and sundry that
the old man was one of the hardest Footballers going in the late 60's
and early seventies. I was a little disappointed not to see him mentioed
at all on your website. was he soft?.
I know that he broke his neck at Leichardt oval against Balmain in
1972 and was told we wouldnt walk again. in 1973 he captain coached
inisfail to a premiership and was selected in the 1973 QLD side to play NSW.
Where he duly belted Bob Fulton one last time. Surely this rates a
mention.
