DESCRIPTION

Boston had the honour of being the first black rugby league man to represent Great Britain in a tour 'down under'. He was the first of many great coloured players to pull on the GB jersey.
He started his professional career with Wigan in 1953.
Boston made 31 tests appearances scoring 24 test match tries. He was a point scoring machine for Wigan, twice scoring 7 tries in a match. He made 6 appearances at Wembley, winning three. He went on to play for Wigan for 15 years, amassing an amazing 478tries. He played two more years with the Blackpool Borough side. In first class matches he scored 571, the most by any British player, and only bettered by Brian Bevan, the brilliant aussie flanker who played out his career in the UK.
