There is nothing in
Rugby League that Malcolm Reilly has not done. Winning
premierships in the UK, Australia, coaching premiership
sides in Australia and the UK, playing for and coaching
his country.
But he will be remembered from this era as a very
fiery, tough, intimidating (dirty) player for England
and Manly. His courage is unquestionable when in
the 73 grand final he played with 6 pain killers
to his hip. (see Memorable matches)
His ongoing battles with the Souths Hooker George Piggins
were like back lane brawls (seeStories Section). A referees
nightmare. I have no doubt that if Mal was playing under
todays rules and judiciarys, then, he wouldn't be playing.
