TOMMY BISHOP

PLAYED FOR
CLUB/COUNTRY

Great Britain, St Helens, Cronulla
(The webmaster's Favourite )

DESCRIPTION

Tommy Bishop was the ultimate, scheming, niggling, brilliant halfback who played a similar style as Alex Murphy.
(As quoted from the History of Australian Rugby League)
Bishop's classic ball skills were without peer anywhere in the rugby playing world. He carved out running angles for his supports with passes timed so sweetly that even knowledge of his creativity was often of little value to opposition teams. He opened up the game for Cronulla and the club became noted in the years after for its running game.
