Australia, St George

DESCRIPTION

Gasniers extraordinary skills earned him the tags, "Puff the Magic Dragon" and "The Prince of Centres". His rise to international stardom was achieved at break-neck speed - on and of the field. He zoomed through the ranks from St George to Australian test team within two months in 1959. He scored 3 tires against the Kiwis that year and repeated the dose against England at Swinton five months later.
Gasnier captained Australia, on and off, from 1962 until his premature retirement in 1967 -68 with a severe leg injury.
