DESCRIPTION

In 1978 Hanley began his brilliant career with Bradford. After 6 years there he transferred to wigan for a then world record tranfer fee. he also spent the 1988 season with Balmain and the 1989 season with Western Suburbs. In 89 he was recognized as the best player in the world by winning the Golden Boot award. He also won Cup Finals at Wembley, Captained his country, and was awarded an MBE.

I in 1991 he transferred to Leeds and spent four good years there.

In 1995, Ellery was lured to join up with Balmain in the ARL, signaling the end of an era for rugby league fans in Britain – the exit of ‘The Black Pearl’. 428 tries appearances in 498 tells it’s own story!

He spent the 1996 and 97 seasons with Balmain. he scored 12 tries and 1 field goal in his seasons down under.
