Description: Many thanks to Innsaneink for sending these great collection of Old West pics mainly involving the legendary late great Dallas Donnelly.

Where possible I have included some text as supplied by Innsaneink...

Controversy was never far away in Wests Manly matches...Here John Donnelly has been sent off in this brutal clash at Brookvale in May, 1979. Manlys Stephen Knight is following,
referee Jack Danzey's finger pointing the way. Manly captain Max Krilich is down for the count recieving treatment.

This main pic is John Donnelly being sent off by Greg Hartley, Wests v Manly ,Lidcombe Oval. Round 1 1981...Donnelly claims he retaliated to Les Boyd biting him..

the cartoon
was in the next days paper ....text say.s.."Send 'im off ref, an innocent kick to the teef an he goes an bites me foot"

Tom Raudonikis & Jack Jeffries in the controversial face slapping episode as shown on channel 9's 60Minutes program. Coach Roy Masters (right) oversees his players.

West front Row, Bruiser Clarke, Hooker Arthur Mountier, and Dallas Donnelly.

A sad day for West. Bruce Clark runs past his mate John Donnelly's jumper draped across a chair. The week after Dallas had drowned in the surf at Byron Bay. As a tribute Wests reserved the jumper for the match

The back page headlines was an official complaint from Referees Director, Eric Cox, to the NSWRL.....over an "effigy" of referee Greg Hartley in the referees room at Lidcombe Oval ,found by Cox before the above match....a picture of Hartley was on the wall surrounded by a wreath of maroon and white carnations.

Magies hooker Arthur Mountier, and yes, it is not Hannibal Lechter
